Robotic heart surgery is a form of minimally invasive heart surgery that allows a surgeon and their team to use dexterous robotic instruments and a robotic high-definition 3D camera to perform precision surgery through tiny incisions.
Endoscopic Robotic Mitral Valve Repair
The robot is particularly helpful for performing mitral valve repair surgery because of the valve’s location in the heart. Mitral valve repair is often performed for mitral valve regurgitation. With endoscopic robotic mitral valve repair, the incisions are between 8mm and 12mm.
Robotic Coronary Artery Bypass
The robot can be used to bypass blocked or narrowed coronary arteries. Our favored approach is to use the robotic to perform the entire bypass procedure. The TECAB (Totally Endoscopic Coronary Artery Bypass) operation involves only small incisions between 8 and 12mm.
